Rob's week off

This week we had daddy home for a WHOLE week. Rob works for Amigos as many of you know. It is rare that we have him home for a week. He works very hard and since he is head manager he always has to be available by phone as well. The week started off with a scare as one of his full time employees called in the first day he was gone and quit. Things never go smooth when Rob take a week off. It all worked out and we were able to go do all the fun things we had planned. We went to Omaha and the Omaha zoo. It was very cool to see but man it was hot that day. The girls kept thinking that many of the animals were night night and that we should be quiet so we did not wake them up. I think the animals were too hot to move. A and D loved the fish and monkeys and the hippo. Paige was happy to see the cat complex and quiz us all on the different types. She brought her book from home and read up on the trip to Omaha. Have I mentioned she is smart ?!?! We then went to the amazing pizza machine. A and D had just as much fun as Paige. Paige won three stuffed animals out of the crane. She also has crazy crane skills. The next day we went to Morrill Hall and today we went to the wildlife safari between Lincoln and Omaha. Tomorrow the farmer's market!! Wish Rob could be home more but we are having a lot of fun this week!!

Grandma's last day of work

Today we "surprised" Grandma at work with a cookie for her last day. I am not sure how much of a surprise it was since we did the same thing last week for Papa. The surprise was Paige and I made the cookie and Paige decorated most of it!! The other surprise was it was not as good as Papa's cookie. Maybe I should leave the cookie making to Eileen :) We have had a good week. Rob is off work all week. We do not even know what to do with daddy being home all the time. We have been to the Omaha zoo, the Amazing Pizza Machine and Morrill hall. I will post pictures of all our adventures. Today we are taking it easy and I cleaned out the fridge, fun times I know. Tonight Grandma's party for her last day of work and then tomorrow back to the fun and games!!

Delaney

Delaney is my youngest by one minute. Rob would disagree and say it was more like four or five. They did not really keep track during the C-section. Delaney was fine with where she was and Rob said it took them a long time to get her out. I did not even get to see her when she was born they ran by and ran her to the NICU. I felt bad that I got to see Abby and not her. I still feel bad she has breathing troubles but the good news is she seems to be out growing them! She is my laid back little girl but do not mess with her baby dolls. Delaney is all girl. She wants to wear dresses and cares which shoes she wears. She will pick them out. Delaney loves her baby dolls, she gives then baths, feeds then in the highchair and puts lotion on them. As many of you know she loves to paint her toe nails-- and babies!! I have to do babies hair in the morning right after D's. We call her D a lot. Delaney loves to dance and when she hears music she just starts dancing. She will sit still and listen while Abby is climbing the wall. I am very thankful for that because I could not keep up with two Abbys. Delaney has a temper and can scream like no one I have heard when she is upset. I love my caring and sweet little D-- Delaney!!!

Abigail "Abby"

Abby is full of energy. She has been since before she was born. She was always moving and wiggling around. Abby was the one who decided to come early. 32 weeks and 6 days or 33 weeks (it depends who you ask) she was done and wanted to come out and play. Delaney was fine where she was and I could see her saying "no Abby" as Abby was pushing her way out! Abby had trouble sleeping at night as a baby. Many nights I drove around Lincoln hoping she would go to sleep. She is full of energy. She climbed baby gates and out of her crib at a very young age. She now pulls on the drawers in the kitchen out to make steps to get to the counter. I found this out when she brought me a bag of Doritos upside down!! Abby's new love is "colors" she does good for awhile and then runs and colors on the wall. Thank goodness for the magic eraser. Abby talks really fast and sometimes it is hard to understand her. She has a super cute high voice and she makes me smile all the time. She wakes up every morning and asks where everyone is at? We go through the whole list and then she will tell me back. Daddy at work, Grandma at work and so on. Her favorite show is Yo Gabba Gabba and she gets pretty upset is you will not let her watch it right when SHE wants to. She is super sweet and loves to cuddle and read books. I love my spunky little Abby!!!

Paige

Picture of Paige from her cooking class this summer

I am going to write about my three girls from oldest to youngest. Paige is my oldest she is nine years old. She is very very very smart. Sometimes too smart. She is also very creative and thoughtful. She loves art and is always making projects. The headboard to her bed is full of her creations at any time. She loves to read and has read many books this summer. We go to the library every Tuesday and she has all her books read by that night!! This summer Paige has been swimming on swim team, taken a Bright Lights cooking class, gone to art camp and done many different little classes like crafts, making a gingerbread house, t-shirt making. I try to keep her busy so she does not get "bored". She has two neighbor boys that she loves to play with. Paige likes, in her words, "boy toys and not girls toys". She like Pokemon and does not like dolls or anything girly. She will not wear pink and not even use a pink beach towel. She is always saying things to make me laugh. You can talk to Paige just like you are talking to an adult and she is so thoughtful and caring. She always worried about other people's feeling and is a BIG help with her younger sisters. I LOVE MY PAIGE!!!

Papa's retirement

This picture is of Papa reading "The Night Before Christmas" to the girls. It is a traditon in our house since I was little and brings back great memories when he now reads the story to my girls.

Today we tried to surprise Papa (Grandpa) at work with a Giant Eileen's cookie. We had trouble finding a time he was actually IN the office today. I knew it would be hard since it was his last day. We finally had to say to him "come back to work we have a surprise for you". All morning the girls had been saying Papa, cookie, Papa, cookie. I knew we could not leave the cookie there and not give the girls a piece. Papa was very surprised and very touched. It was all worth it. Tonight he had a get together at Zen's and had a great turnout. He worked with some very nice people who thought the world of him. He never seemed to really like his job but he said those people made it worth it. He also took us out to dinner. It was a great night. Uncle Chris babysat for the first time EVER!! Everything went well and he spent the night changing diapers ( for the baby dolls) and reading books. The girls were even saying his name by the end of the night. Good day and Great night. I am exhausted.

Why do I do theses things??

I have finally decided what I am going to do with my Blog. I am going to find one picture a day and write about it. It may be recent it may be years old. I think this will help me talk about both the old and new things.

Today's picture is one of the girls eating red, white and blue star kisses while they were wearing white dresses and on a hot hot day. We dropped Paige off at swim team and I brought the wagon so we could go for a walk. I started walking and right in front of me I saw Dairy Queen. I thought how fun we will go get ice cream. I walked in and changed my mind. It was close to the 4Th of July and I thought lets get the red, white and blue treats. As soon as a handed them to the girls I knew it would be a mess. I did it anyway. The dresses came clean and I had to wheel the wagon out back and spray it out. I stripped them down and put them back in the car with just diapers on. It was a lot of work. I would do it all again. Their smiles are worth it. Being a mom is tough and the hardest job I have ever had, BUT I love it so much and I love it even when I make my job harder on myself.

Swim Meet and sand toys

Today was Paige's third swim meet. She is doing great. If she could learn to dive she would be right with all the other swimmers. I am very proud of my little fish. There is a sand area at the pool and I have been bringing my sand toys for the girls to play with. I even bought more toys this week because last week all the big kids were using their toys. Well today was a huge meet and once again all the big kids took their toys. After being in the sun for three hours and it was hot hot hot here. I lost my patience and started taking back my toys. I may not have been as nice as I could have about it but I brought them. I went and bought them at Target and packed them in the car and carried them all the way from the car to the pool. I think my kids should be able to play with them.
